Blackpool have missed out on the signing of Dundee United striker David Goodwillie after the Scot completed his move to Blackburn tonight.

‘Pool had offered in the region of £1.6 million for the highly rated 22 year old – an offer that was rejected by the Scottish club, who were demanding £2 million for the player.

However, amid interest from the likes of Rangers, Blackburn swooped quickly to get their man, for an initial fee of £2 million plus £800,000 in potential add-ons.

The news will come as a blow to Ian Holloway, with it also being reported today that the Seasiders’ move for West Brom striker Ishmael Miller is also dead in the water, leaving the Seasiders short of options up top with DJ Campbell on the verge of leaving the club.
