Simon Grayson has a reputation for signing players with a point to prove. Alan Gow and Steve Kabba certainly fit that bill and they have both made a big impression playing for Pool this season.

That has been reflected in your voting in our latest poll. We’ve been asking you which of Pool’s loan players you think we need to keep most when their deals expire in January.

42% of you feel Alan Gow’s signature should be Larry’s top priority with 14% going for Kabba. Interestingly, 35% of you want Larry to keep those two as well as Adam Hammill and Zesh Rehman, who has yet to start a league match for Pool.

Keeping Kabba was most people’s priority after the frontman had notched a couple of goals in September. But since Kabba picked up an injury Alan Gow has excelled in his place in the side. Gow’s performance last Tuesday in the win over Derby certainly affected your votes.

A fee has already been agreed between Blackpool and Rangers for Gow and so the Seasiders could make his switch permanent in January.

Steve Kabba’s situation is less clear. Watford, who Pool travel to play on Saturday, are struggling near the bottom three in the league and Aidy Boothroyd may recall his striker to boost his attacking options. Equally whether Pool can afford to pay Kabba’s wages is another potential stumbling block.

But with Steve McPhee and Danny Nardiello still sidelined, keeping Kabba and Gow will be even more important for Simon Grayson.
