Simon Grayson has shared the keys to success, and how to ‘deal’ with Karl Oyston, which isn’t likely to do too much good doing forward as he’ll now be onto this scheme to fool him!

Former Blackpool manager Grayson, who says that he ‘enjoyed a productive relationship’ with Oyston during the three-years he spent with us, has told the Blackpool Gazette that the thing to do with him, to basically get what you wanted, was to ‘trick him into thinking he’s won!’

If you offered up several more alternatives than you actually wanted, knowing full well he would be turned down, you would basically get what you wanted anyway whereas he would have been left think that he had won having rejected the other requests.

‘If I wanted two things I asked him for 10, because I knew he`d think he`d won the battle for the other eight.

‘My time at Blackpool gave me the grounding straight away in my managerial career.’

Out of the frying pan and into the fire under Ken Bates at Leeds? Maybe so but he went onto say that the time spent under both has shaped his managerial career, and Grayson’s not done too bad in it so far has he!

I don’t think that Lee Clark will now be able to try such an approach with the cat out of the bag….
