After guiding his side to five wins in as many games – including last weekend’s win over Champions elect, Scunthorpe – Grayson has won another Manager Of The Month award to go alongside his December award on his mantelpiece.

His side are still in with a chance of automatic promotion with just two points separating Blackpool, Nottingham Forest and Bristol City in 4th, 3rd and 2nd respectively.

Should Forest and Bristol fail to win on Saturday and Grayson’s side win, they will be promoted automatically – dependant on goal difference which, as it stands, is 2 goals greater than Bristol and the same as Forest (+24 compared to +22).

Even if ‘Pool fail to gain promotion automatically, the playoffs are there as a failsafe to fall back on – which after the terrible start to the season Blackpool had, would be an amazing turn around for the rookie manager in his first full season in charge.

All in all, a fantastic month and a fantastic season for the former Leicester player – and the team – who now go marching onto Swansea on the final day in search of second place.
