The former Manchester City coach Asa Hartford joined the club in January and helped Pool to secure their League One status. Hartford also served as a manager at the lower levels, he was in charge at Stockport and Shrewsbury during the 90’s and it was this experience which proved to be vital in keeping the Seasiders up.

Simon Grayon spoke to the club official website about Asa.

‘Asa had done nothing wrong and I’d like to thank him for all that his work and he’s contributed immensely to what we’ve done.

‘A great person on the training pitch and off it, he helped us out at a difficult time it was a difficult decision to make.’

The position of assistant manager will be taken up by reserve team manager Steve Thompson.
