The Seasiders take on Leicester City at the Walkers Stadium on Saturday afternoon, but how has this fixture gone in the past?

A controversial Keith Southern goal just over two years ago was enough to give Simon Grayson’s Blackpool a 1-0 win away at The Foxes, and playing away at City has given us plenty of pleasure over the years!

In the last 29 away games, ‘Pool have won a credible 13 – dating back to 1913 – and drawing seven.

Overall, the record between the two sides stands at:
Games – 91
Leicester wins – 34
Blackpool wins – 38
Draws – 19

Colin Hendry’s Seasiders, who were in League 1 at the time, drew away at Leicester in the FA Cup with another Southern goal coupled with a Peter Clarke strike. In the team that day were the likes of Rob Clare, Simon Lynch and Rob Edwards.

In the replay, we were un-done by a super strike by Joey Gudjonsson.

But since our promotion to The Championship, ‘Pool have taken maximum points of Martin Allen’s and Ian Holloway’s team, winning, as mentioned above, 1-0 and then 2-1 in the return fixture at Bloomfield Road through an injury time winner from Paul Dickov.
