Holt! Who Goes There?

With the transfer window set to open in under 24 hours, rumours are rife about who the Seasiders may sign over the next month to strengthen their squad.

The national media have linked Ian Holloway’s side with a move for Norwich striker Grant Holt.

Holt of course spent a fruitless loan spell at Bloomfield Road under Simon Grayson’s tenure, but has been scoring goals for the Canaries left, right and centre.

However, the Championship side have insisted that the 29 year old is not for sale amid reports that Wigan, West Ham and Bolton are chasing the player.

Even if he were for sale, it is likely that Holt would be too pricey for the Seasiders. However, one player who probably isn’t is Ghanian midfielder Laryea Kingston.

Kingston (the brother of ‘Pool keeper Richard Kingson) is available on a free transfer after his release from Dutch side Vitesse.

And according to reports emanating from the player’s homeland, Kingston will arrive in Blackpool early next week for talks about a possible move to the seaside.

The 30 year old has 41 caps for Ghana and used to play for Hearts, but has a reputation for being injury prone and having off the field issues.

Could Kingston be another Ollie bargain plucked from obscurity, or is he a stop gap in case the Seasiders don’t land their primary targets during the window?
