Jon Ski from Vital Huddersfield talks about ‘Pools new signing, GTF.

Jon, tell us about new signing Gary Taylor-Fletcher.

‘He has been used by The Terriers as an attacking midfield player, wide right player, and general midfield creative flair player this last season.

He is a very skillful player and on his day will tear apart any side. The on his day bit is quite important because there are games when – like a lot of flair players – he can seem anonymous on the park.

Capable of spectacular goals and even more spectacular runs; a bit lightweight in the challenges and physical side of the game; but can have a rush of blood to the head and get booked for reckless behaviour. All in all, an enigmatic player.

Overall sad to see him go, but frankly I think Brandon is better, so for me, you have picked the wrong player.’

  • Interesting view, Brandon far too lightweight fior the rough & tumble of the Championship IMO. Onwards + Upwards

  • I think the majority of Terriers fans would disagree with that statement comparing him to Brandon. Everyone on their rivals board seems to be saying that they wish we’d taken Brandon instead of GTF. Only time will tell if it was a good move I suppose

  • Their is a vocal minority who don’t rate Brandon, most of the above from jon i agree with, on his day brilliant, started last season in fantrastic form, and slowly faded to anonimity by the end.
