After scoring his first goal in tangerine, Lee Hughes has stated that he’d be ‘very interested’ in joining The Seasiders permanently.

The 32-year-old popped up in the final seconds to secure a crucial point for Tony Parkes’ men at now-relegated Charlton Athletic, which all but confirm a second year of survival for ‘Pool.

And after his first goal for the club, he’s making noises of staying beyond the end of the season.

‘I would be interested (in signing), it’s a great club with great supporters, players and staff.

‘If they want to sit down and chat, I’d be very interested,’
said the frontman.

Whether Hughes signing permanently is viable would depend upon who becomes full time Blackpool boss, which is thought to be sorted out weeks after the season.

If rumours of former Oldham boss John Sheridan having an interview at Bloomfield Road are true, it looks like Hughes will have to look elsewhere for a team.

Sheridan and Hughes had a very public bust up whilst at The Latics only a matter of weeks ago, and were both shown the door out of Boundary Park.
