Humiliating Cup Defeat At Torquay

If ever there was a reason why Tony Parkes shouldn’t get the job on a permanent basis, today was it. The team selection was questionable from the start, with Joe Martin and Claus Jorgensen unbelievably being overlooked for David Vaughan and Stuart Green. What does Marlon Broomes have to do to get a game for us, as Shaun Barker was shifted into the centre of defence with Ian Evatt and Danny Coid at right back.

I’m not going to go on about the game – Torquay deserved their victory. Matt Green was the match winner on 32 minutes for the home side as he finished past Paul Rachubka smartly.

‘Pool had some glorious chances, with Daniel Nardiello, Ben Burgess and most notably David Fox guilty of missing fantastic opportunities. But we never really looked like getting a draw, let alone a win.

After the break, it could’ve been more than one, with the non-leaguers hitting the post and wasting some fairly good chances.

We need players in by the bucket load, and quickly. The lack of depth in the squad has now shown Simon Grayson up for what he was, but now he is no longer here Karl Oyston needs to find a new management team as soon as possible, otherwise we could be sucked into a heavy relegation dogfight.
