In Claus We Trust

As we near the end of the season, talk will clearly begin (or in some cases has been ongoing for months it seems) on ins and outs at Bloomfield Road. Midfield ever-present Claus Jorgensen is one player who has yet to hear his fate at Blackpool, as The Seasiders keep him sweating over a new contract.

The talk is that it is likely that Claus will be awarded a one year contract with an option of an extra year if manager Simon Grayson wants to keep him after that. He made the Vital player of the season shortlist of six (which included Kaspars Gorkss, Stephen Crainey, Ben Burgess, Wes Hoolahan and Gary Taylor-Fletcher) after a string of eye catching performances in the middle of midfield which culminated in an all action display in the win against Sheffield Wednesday last Saturday.

The former Faroe Island international has played in ten of the twelve wins this season in The Championship, chipping in with four goals – the pick of the bunch being the stunner against Burnley.

Whilst first choice midfielder Keith Southern has been injured, Claus has taken on the role of the senior player in the middle, and has been made to do the donkey work alongside Michael Flynn – something he did very well for a number of games.

The best suited midfielder to play alongside Keith Southern – in Claus we trust; give him a contract!
