Speaking to Blackpoolfc.co.uk yesterday Paul Ince said that the three points from the game against Barnsley came as a bonus after the match looked to have been heading for a 0-0 draw throughout the second half.
The deadlock was broken after 94 minutes when a long thrown from Jack Robinson, came off the head of Scott Wiseman. The goal has preserved Blackpool’s 100% start to the season and sits then 2nd in the Championship below Watford who yesterday recorded a 6-1 win over newly promoted Bournemouth.
Blackpool were yesterday without the services of Thomas Ince who was suspended after Blackpool’s derby game on monday night and Angel Martinez who picked up a knock in the game against Preston North End.
Ince on loosing Ince and Angel, ‘Losing Thomas and Angel was a big blow for us, and I’m glad that it didn’t affect the team. That’s why Bash is playing where he is, and he’s one of those that just wants to play anywhere. Once again he showed what a versatile player he is’
Ince will be out for one more game, and it is hoped that Angel will be back for Blackpool’s next game away at Middlesbrough on Saturday.
