Israeli Signs For ‘Pool?

This evening has seen reports emerge that suggest that Blackpool have completed the signing of Israeli international centre half Dekel Keinan.

Keinan, who is 25 and stands at just over six foot, has 15 caps for Israel and is available on a free transfer after electing not to renew his contract at Maccabi Haifa.

The story first emerged through Wikipedia, where Keinan is listed as a member of Blackpool’s squad.

From there though, Google brings up several results from Israeli football sources all announcing that the player has signed for the Seasiders, with some even stating that he has signed a two year deal.

It is known that two players were in for talks with the Seasiders yesterday, and whilst Kerrea Gilbert has been identified as one of the players, Keinan does fit the description of the second player.

The position of centre half is one that ‘Pool manager Ian Holloway has been eager to strengthen (especially in terms of bringing in a left footed centre half, which Keinan apparently is), and the manager has made enquiries for the likes of Mark Reynolds of Motherwell in his quest to do so, but it appears as if Keinan may well have secured his seal of approval.

Meanwhile, the Seasiders continue to be linked with the likes of Gary Hooper, Chris Cohen and Aleksandar Ignjovski… could the signing of Keinan kickstarted a very busy few weeks in terms of transfers at Bloomfield Road?

Congratulations! You’ve just got a very good center back!
You will fall in love with Dekel. First, because of the reason that he is really good and talented CB, and was one of the reasons that Maccabi Haifa played this year in the champions league(while many other talented teams didn’t get there. And second, because of his personality and his intelligence. All in all, a very good CB. Good luck this year!
