The 30-year-old midfielder has only signed a one year contact at Bloomfield Road with an option to a further year.
Jorgensen a former Bradford and Bournemouth player is currently with the Faroe Islands for their European Championship qualifier against Scotland this weekend.
Jorgensen was born in Holstebro in Denmark in 1976 and played for AC Horsens. He moved to England in 1999 to Bournemouth where he made 77 league starts scoring 14 goals. From the south coast he moved to Bradford where he scored 12 from 41 starts.
He moved to Coventry in 2003 and scored six goals in 30 starts. During his time at Coventry he was loaned out to former club Bournemouth in 2004.
