Keane: We Controlled The Game

Ipswich boss Roy Keane reckons his side controlled the game in their 2-1 win over ‘Pool yesterday.

Town went ahead early on in the first half but the Seasiders pegged them back to 1-1 and from then on only one side looked like winning.

However, sadly for the home side, both centre halves were given straight red cards to reduce them to nine men.

Owen Garvan scored the winner and Ian Holloway’s team had no answer from then on.

Keane was pleased with the win: ‘As far as our performance is concerned, we are turning in results now.

‘We controlled the game well.’

Talking about the officials (and who couldn’t after that display) and Ollie’s sending to the stand, the Tractor Boys gaffer stated: ‘I am never one for wanting players to be sent off. I have got a lot of time for Ian Holloway. He is an emotional man. It is an emotional game. I did not hear him use any foul language towards the officials whatsoever.’

This goes someway to dispelling the theory from the referee that Holloway used foul and abusive language, which led to his sending off.
