The Daily Mail is tonight reporting that Blackpool have re-entered contract negotiations with Slovenia’s captain Robert Koren.

The midfielder, released by West Brom prior to this summer’s World Cup, held talks with the Sesaiders several weeks ago, but his wage demands (which were part of the reason for him leaving West Brom apparently) were too high for the Seasiders.

However, something appears to have changed with the Mail now reporting that the Seasiders lead the chase for the player, with Deportivo, Rangers, Hull, Leicester and Sheffield United also interested.

The Mail reports that Koren favours a move to the Premier League and there’s no doubt that he would be a great signing for us, so let’s hope there’s something in this report!

Meanwhile, the same article from the Mail also links the Seasiders with a £200,000 move for Oldham striker Tom Eaves.

The teenager has made just 15 sub appearances for the Latics but is very highly rated by the financially striken League One club and recently signed a new five year deal.

With ‘Pool manager Ian Holloway looking to improve the youth side of things at the club, Eaves could well be one of his Under 21 targets designed to bulk out the Seasiders’ squad for next season.
