Blackpool have today signed Leicester City midfielder Michael Cain on loan for the coming season.
The 21 year old comes in from the reigning Premier League Champions’ Development Squad and he’s signed a deal until the end of the 2016/17 campaign.
He has made his first team debut for Leicester, back in August 2014, and he spent most of last season with League One side Walsall.
During his time with them he made a total of 38 appearances, scoring three times and he was part of the squad that reached the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final at Wembley.
Described as a box to box midfielder, having joined them from Luton Town back in 2011 on a five year deal, in 2012/13 he was named their Academy Player of the Year.
He came in for training on Thursday, and the formalities were complete earlier today.
Gary Bowyer said briefly of his capture.
‘He plays forward and he wants to create something. I just felt that we needed that in the squad and he’s settled in very, very quickly.’
