On Loan Leicester City striker Jacob Blyth has been speaking about his move to Blackpool and how he’s hoping to play his part in firing the club to League One safety.

The 23 year old striker knows the level and League Two well with previous loan spells out with the likes of Burton Albion, Northampton, Cambridge United and Notts County, and having arrived yesterday at the club on a loan deal from the Premier League table toppers until the end of the current season, he told the Official Site that as soon as he knew manager Neil McDonald wanted him, he was desperate to come out and hopefully play his part in ensuring survival this year following the season the club have had again.

With eight games up for him in the remaining of the year, he explained.

‘I went in to training on Monday and heard there was a bit of interest from Blackpool and I`ve tried to follow it up straight away because it`s a massive club. I`m delighted to be here. The manager came to watch me on Friday and was impressed so hopefully I can continue to impress him during my time here.’

With where Blackpool find themselves in the League One table, Blyth went on to say he had no issues about joining in with a relegation battle, his only focus is in hopefully scoring the goals that will see us move up the table now.

‘I had no qualms about joining a relegation fight. Blackpool shouldn`t be in a relegation fight in this league so I want to get them as high up the table as possible.’

With his best loan spell coming with Burton Albion last season where he scored five times to help the to the League Two title, he added.

‘Last season I was at Burton so I`ve got that winning mentality and I`m hoping to bring that here. I just want to score as many goals as I can to help get the lads up as high as possible. I bring a different style of play, I`m quite a big target man with an eye for goal. There`s two different sides to my game, I can run in behind and I can go to feet. There`s been interest all season, it`s just been about picking the right club and when Blackpool came about I wanted to take it with two hands.’
