Blackpool have this evening moved to quash reports that they have completed the signing of experienced Spanish centre half Miguel Angel Llera.

Several media outlets – including Sky Sports and the Daily Mail – had claimed that the Seasiders had completed the signing of the ex Charlton centre half, but the club have denied this.

However, they have confirmed that Llera is on trial with the Seasiders as ‘Pool manager Ian Holloway looks to bolster his defensive options. Scottish full back Bob Harris also remains on trial with the club.

Meanwhile, back at home, ‘Pool are continuing talks with Birmingham midfielder Barry Ferguson over a move to Bloomfield Road.

The 33 year old has been locked in protracted talks with the Seasiders for around a week now, although ‘Pool chairman Karl Oyston insists that he is not a replacement for Charlie Adam or David Vaughan.

Confusion also remains over the future of Newcastle striker Nile Ranger whom it has been widely reported has rejected a move to the Seasiders, although the club insist that talks are still ongoing.

The Seasiders are also known to still be speaking to Gerardo Bruna and Thomas Ince’s representatives, whilst it is Vital’s understanding that the club are working hard on a deal to bring former loanee Jason Puncheon to the club permanently, although his agent Tony Finnigan has refused to discuss the matter with us.

Potentially exciting times at Bloomfield Road!
