After yesterday’s game Neil McDonald spoke to the official site and insisted that the win can be the start of a good run of results.
Blackpool were far from convincing in their display against Fleetwood but did manage to keep a clean sheet and won thanks to a Nathan Pond own goal.
McDonald was clearly pleased with his side and insisted that winning the game is all that mattered.
He told the official site: ‘I thought our first-half performance was a really good. Whether it be a spectacular goal or a deflection goal, we certainly needed it and got it.
‘Even though we didn’t acquit ourselves really well in the second-half and felt a little bit nervous because of the run that we’re on, we showed solidarity in everything we did and defensively we put our bodies on the line trying to stop crosses coming into the box.
‘We’ve taken away the losing streak, which is great, and we can start a winning streak now. We’ve got a couple of weeks until a game now and it gives us a chance again to work on the training field and make sure that we’re ready for Wigan’
Pool will play Wigan for the second time this season after being hammered by them 4-0 away from home in the JPT.
Whilst they’ve not won in the last two, the Latics sit 5th in the table and are 5 points off the top. Pool will certainly need to put in a better performance this time if they’re to stand a chance of gaining anything from the game.
