Manager Neil McDonald has called on Blackpool to bring their A game when we face Swindon Town this weekend.

Hoping to see Blackpool improve their away form as we go into the final throes of the season, the gaffer told the Official Site that we needed to repeat the performances we had put in on our travels against the likes of Coventry City, Wigan Athletic and Walsall if we were to get the result we wanted.

‘We’re going to be up against team that is coming off the back of a good away win. They’re a very good footballing team and they keep possession of that ball. Sometimes they play in the wrong areas so hopefully we can catch them out. If we can hit our ‘A’ game, which we have done on a couple of occasions in away games, then we’ve got to take our chances when they come along and stick the ball in the back of the net to punish the opposition.’

McDonald went on to say that he was hoping to see us benefit from more space at the County Ground so we can more counter attack the side on our visit, as he knows the onus is on them to come out and attack in front of their own fans and they can’t sit back as others have done at Bloomfield Road of late.

‘The opposition have been coming here over the last few games knowing our home form has been very good, so they’ve been quite cagey and tried to close the space down. We’ve exploited a few of them but unfortunately on Tuesday night against Oldham we couldn’t break that system down. Swindon will have to come out and play and that will hopefully leave us a little bit more space.’
