Meet The Fans

Or in this weeks case: meet the editor. John Campbell talks about his Blackpool career so far…

Name: John

Age: Youngish, 22

Live: Withington in Manchester but it can be classed at Didsbury which sounds respectable.

Marital Status: Single, but I have a girl.

First Game: I think it was a home game, Huddersfield at home and some Town boys were in the south paddock and it kicked off, I was very impressed by the whole day.

First Away game: No idea really, I think it was a 3-0 away defeat at Preston but I seem to remember visits to Huddersfield and Wrexham.

Favourite Former players: John Hills; basically because he was called John, he had blond hair like I used to and he had the correct attitude which came from him being local lad playing for his local side. Great attacking play and solid at the back too.

Favourite Current player: Andy Morrell, the effort that he puts in is phenomenal and he plays the game fairly with a smile on his face on and off the field.

Favourite games:
There are a few, I loved the home play off game against the Monkey Hangers, sunny day 2-0, Brett with two goals and then him and Simmo being carried off the pitch by the fans. The second leg was class too, with only around 1000 pool fans there and we battered them.

That season the away win at Kidderminster on Sky was good, pure Macca attacking football.

All three Mill Stad games were good, as was the trips to Arsenal, Charlton and recently Norwich.

This season my favourite games have to be the away wins at Crewe and Oldham, but really I`m looking to add to that list this season if we go all the way with a play-off win at Wembley.

Any final thoughts:
Really I would love us to get promoted this season so we can have a few more big games with visits of local rivals and some of the former Premiership big boys. I do love the big games at home, to see Bloomers full and also the big atmosphere that we create on away days, just would be great to take it to the next level.
