Kyle Vassell hasn’t been involved for Blackpool since he suffered a broken foot in the draw with Barnet last month, which is likely to keep him out of contention for the majority of Pools’ remaining games.

With 12 goals for Blackpool this season Vassell’s absence could prove crucial for the promotion hopes so if he can get into a position where he could return before the campaign is over this may make a huge difference.

Blackpool boss Gary Bowyer has said Vassell is making good progress in his recovery but wasn’t putting a time scale on a possible return date for the 24 year old.

Bowyer was quoted by the Blackpool Gazette as saying.

‘I think it`s unfair to put any time frame on Vass. He`s progressing nicely but at this moment in time he`s come out of the boot he had to wear initially. So he`s making good progress but you have to be really careful with these metatarsals.’

Having dealt with a similar injury to Jason Lowe when Bowyer was in charge at Blackburn the boss knows the perils of rushing Vassell back too soon.

‘I had a similar experience with Jason Lowe at Blackburn and he kept coming back, breaking down, coming back and breaking down and he ended up having to have an operation. That`s the last thing we want for any player.’
