Gary Bowyer has once again turned to a familiar face when making Eddie Nolan the latest addition to his Blackpool squad this summer.
Nolan, who was most recently with York but released in January, has also played for Scunthorpe, Sheffield Wednesday and Preston with him a trainee at Blackburn when he worked with his now Blackpool boss Bowyer.
After his confirmed arrival at Bloomfield Road on a one-year contract the defender told the Official Website.
‘I’ve been here since the start of pre-season so I’ve settled in well. Training has been good and the manager is putting together a good squad. I’ve played against some of the lads before, there’s some good players and some good signings been made this summer. I just want to play well and do as much as I can to help the team.’
Bowyer’s familiarity with Nolan helped to his getting this chance with Blackpool of course but he still had to impress to earn his Pools deal, which he did.
The boss added he was happy with what he’s seen from him with his versatility also a factor in this deal.
‘I know Eddie from my days at Blackburn and he’ll be a valuable addition to the squad. He’s offers great versatility at the back and has performed very well in the games he’s played so far.’
The 27-year-old has enjoyed success at League 2 level before as he’s previously helped Scunthorpe to promotion from this level so we’ll be hopeful with his help that can happen again.
