It’s been a busy few days at Sixfields!

Manager John Gorman resigned on Wednesday after the Cobblers form had dipped dramatically and today the chairman announced that star defender Luke Chambers will not be going anywhere.

Gorman, former Wycombe boss lost his wife in February whilst at Wanderers to cancer, and doesn`t seem to have recovered as of yet, even though he took the Northampton job half a year ago.

He said that his decision to resign was down to stress and at this time in his life, he didn`t need that. ‘I just can’t be bothered with all the pressure of trying to win football games at the moment,’ said Gorman.

‘It’s OK when you’re winning, but when you’re losing the pressure and everything that goes with it is too much and I just feel I don’t need it all.”

In other news from Sixfields, chairman, David Cardoza has come out and stated that the club have turned down a six figure offer from an unnamed club (maybe ourselves?) for highly rated defender Luke Chambers and that he won`t be moving anywhere. Sure thing for him to go in January now then?

In other news from the Cobblers, hotshot striker Andy Kirk has been transfer listed, along with former seasider, James Quinn. Veteran Scott McGleish has also been added to the list in a bizarre turn against the three main front men.
