Manager Lee Clark has said our performance against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux simply wasn’t good enough and he didn’t really hide his anger at the full time whistle.

Going down two nil on the day to late goals in the game, he told the Official Site that the way we ended the match was unacceptable and he wasn’t happy.

‘It’s frustrating and disappointing to concede so late in the game and it was just a crazy error for the second goal. After the first seven or eight minutes of the second half we weren’t enough of a threat to Wolves, we played too deep and we were continually under pressure. It told in the end.’

Clark goes on to say that simply put in our position we have to ‘try and approach’ every game looking for victory, and we aren’t going to achieve that if we don’t pressure teams ourselves, and simply give them a leg up by sitting back/

‘To win it you’ve got to take risks in the opponents half. You need to be good with your passing and get bodies in the box when you’re crossing the ball, and we didn’t do enough of that.’

He admits that sitting back, obviously the opposition can affect that happening as well, but that’s when you have to stand up and be counted, put your foot on the ball, and not just give it straight back to them, so you can move and relieve the pressure on the goal, but again we didn’t do that.

‘We certainly didn’t help ourselves in the second half, we didn’t give enough going forward to relieve that pressure.’

With Watford up next weekend, Clark’s main task this week will be in trying to strengthen the squad again.
