Today was Simon Grayson’s first opportunity to see his new signings in action, albeit against lower league opposition.

However the first 45 minutes were a dull affair with neither side able to break the deadlock and the teams going in at the break all square at 0-0.

The 2nd half saw the introduction of Keigan Parker who caused the Town defence all sorts of trouble and was inspirational in the goals that came in this period.

Ben Burgess got on the scoresheet, as did new signing Gary Taylor-Fletcher and Keigan Parker.

Grayson employed some fair substitutions, with all 3 ‘keepers having a run out and some youngsters given the chance to impress – central midfielder Matty Kay and centre backs Matty Lawlor and Phil Doughty (continuing his comeback from a serious injury 2 seasons ago) all played a part and impressed the Blackpool crowd at Highbury.

Fans travelling to Latvia this coming week will be hopeful this winning form – continuing from the end of last season – will carry on even further, while getting an up-close-and-personal look at the team setup and of course the relationships between the players as ‘Larry’ looks to build up more team spirit between the players.
