We are now just days from the start of the new season and the Seasiders have yet to sign anyone.

As a result, Ian Holloway is set to continue to run the rule over numerous trialists who are training with the club as he desperately searches for a lump of gold in a quarry of coal.

Speaking to the Gazette about the trialists currently at the club, he said:

‘Razak [Omotoyossi] could only play 20 minutes at Crewe. The way he started the game, you thought, ‘Blimey, he looks something’.

‘But then the wheels came off because he hasn’t been training with his club.

‘We’ve only got 15 or 16 players in our squad, so we’ve got up to ten places to fill as well as bringing some younger ones from abroad on loan as clubs are allowed an unlimited pool of under-21s.

‘The lad in midfield at Crewe [Sunny] is that sort of ilk.’
