After the worst ‘Pool performance that I can remember for a long while, it’s good to know that manager Ian Holloway was just as disappointed with the players as I was.

Speaking after the game, the manager said:

‘That didn’t look like my team.

‘I’ve never seen them give the ball away so much and there were some major unforced errors.

‘Our bonfire’s not even smoking. Let’s hope it sparks for us next week.’

Meanwhile, Tykes manager Mark Robins was very pleased to complete the double over the Seasiders:

‘It was a great, professional performance because Blackpool are a real threat.

‘You’ve got to give them respect because if you don’t, they’ll turn you over and I thought we nullified the threat really well.

‘Their main threat was Charlie Adam and he was the quietest he’s been all season. That is a credit to my players because Adam is a really good player.’
