On Me ‘ed, Son!

A new feature to the site: we look at the head to head record between Blackpool and Saturday’s opponents, Bradford City.

League:
‘Pool Wins: 23
Draws: 4
City wins: 18

Cups:
‘Pool wins: 1
Draws: 1
City wins: 5

Last Time We Met?
28th October 2006

Blackpool ran out easy 4-1 winners inside a near full Bloomfield Road. David Fox, Wes Hoolahan and a Keigan Parker double (the type of double Keigan isn’t used to: goalscoring!) sealed the three points for Larry’s lads. It would have been oh so sweeter but for a lashing drive from Jermaine Johnson four minutes from time.

Game That Sticks In The Memory?
15th May 1996

That horrific game at Bloomers in the second leg of the old Division One playoffs and the Seasiders went into the match with a two goal headstart in effect after winning the first leg 2-0 at Valley Parade.

However, despite the two goal cushion, Sam Allardyce’s men contrived to lose 3-0 with goals from Derrick Hamilton, Carl Shutt and Mark Stallard leading City into the playoff final which they won 2-0 against Notts County.

Prediction For Saturday?
Given that City have recently sacked Colin Todd, I think the game will be a tough one, but one we can certainly come out of with maximum points.

2-1 to the ‘Pool.
