On this day, 8th September 1900 .. The return to Bloomfield Road
On this day in 1900 Blackpool FC returned back to Bloomfield Road, which was originally known as Gambles Field, home of South Shore FC.
When the two teams amalgamated in 1899, Gambles Field was renamed, Bloomfield Road, and the remainder of the seasons fixtures were played at Raikes Hall Ground.
25th August a practice match was played at the new look and newly named Bloomfield Road ground, where Blackpool player Horwich R.M.I, who only had ten men in their line up. Blackpool won this practice game 8-0.
On 8th September Blackpool played host to Gainsborough Trinity, although there was still work to be done on levelling off the slope of the pitch, where the end result was 1-1 in front of a 2000 strong crowd, double that of the crowd the previous year.
Bloomfield Road has been the home of Blackpool FC since this time up until the present day.
