Andrea Orlandi saying that Blackpool aren’t a team that has ‘created many chances and scored many goals’ might be a bit of an understatement!

Nevertheless even in defeat at Ipswich on Saturday, which was our first loss in four – but extended our winless run well past a dozen, Orlandi was impressive and got a goal that his efforts deserved with him telling the Official Website that his aims for the remainder of the season are to carry on doing his bit.

‘It’s always good to score goals, but it didn’t help us win the game. It was a good ball from Henry (Cameron), I was in a good position and was pleased with the finish.

‘Unfortunately we’re not a team which has created many chances and scored many goals, but still I’ve been able to do my bit and hopefully I can do more in the last four games.’

An error on Orlandi’s part did allow Ipswich back into the game but he then returned to compliment to Cameron for him to score our second and make up for this to get us back to two-two but we couldn’t hold on with Ipswich scoring a late winner in our three-two defeat….

Like so many at the club now, or that have since left, it’s been what you could call a ‘difficult season’ but now back in, playing regularly and showing something what would resemble his best form the 30-year-old is happy enough and feels that he’s been playing well of late, which is something that he is looking to continue long-term.

‘I had a difficult start to the season after I didn’t have a pre-season. It was Rotherham at home when the Gaffer put me in and I played well, and I’ve been playing and playing well since.

‘I’ve played at this level for a long time and I think I can contribute in a good way.’

Will Orlandi be at Blackpool next season though?
