Owen Oyston contacted the Blackpool Gazette and Blackpool Supporters Trust last night regarding the BST bid to buy the club and says he is ‘seriously considering’ their offer.
It was believed Oyston had totally ignored the bid when no offer was received by the 21st July deadline and the family were openly criticised by the BST. However Owen Oyston’s office told the Blackpool Gazette “He cannot work within the deadline imposed upon him but will reply in due course when he has had the full advice from the professionals.”
The news that the bid is at least being considered and has not been totally dismissed is good news for the fans and the Supporters Trust who need their offers to be recognised in order to achieve anything in their quest to buy the club. It’s doubtful that the offer is good enough to be accepted as it includes no extra cash, but it will be interesting nonetheless to see what Oyston has to say in his reply.
