Karl Oyston might have ‘stepped down’ as chief executive but having met with the Blackpool Supporters Trust (BST) Owen Oyston remains instant the club isn’t for sale.

Alex Cowdy will become the new chief executive with Karl Oyston continuing as Blackpool chairman.

Owen Oyston rarely faces the fans but having been invited to do so by BST chairman Steve Rowland it was made clear that the Oyston families ownership of Blackpool, which of course dates back to 1988, will continue with him making that clear during an hour long meeting at the Blackpool Hilton Hotel over the weekend.

To say the relationship between the owners and the fans was ‘strained’ would be an understatement with the clubs decline having little to now impact on this ownership decision with the heels dug in continuously.

Despite the heckling from the crowd with ‘Oyston Out’ and ‘get out of our club’ constantly chanted to Oyston senior his stance remains unchanged with him leaving with the same attitude as he had when he arrived, being escorted away by security guards.

A £16m takeover by the BST was launched a year ago but Oyston eventually ended those talks with the club continuing to spiral into nothingness really….
