The club has announced that striker Martin Paterson has completed his move to Blackpool on a deal until the end of the season.

A deal for Paterson has been on the cards for a while and he played in last week’s Lancashire Senior Cup game against Morecambe. The striker made his name at Scunthorpe, Burnley and Huddersfield but his most recent spell was for Orlando City in the MLS.

The 28 year old has had his troubles with injuries but will look to secure regular football at Blackpool. He will certainly add some experience to Pool’s front line.

Talking to the official site, Paterson said: ‘As soon as I came in to train the manager wanted me to sign and wanted me to prove my fitness. I feel fit and ready to go out and play some games.’

Adding: ‘I’m joining the club to add experience and hopefully firepower. I’m looking forward to playing as many games as I possibly can this season for Blackpool.’
