Blackpool went into the final match of the season knowing we had it all to do if we didn’t want to slip to another relegation.

It was known nothing less than a win would have been enough, however even then that might not have been enough!

Not only did Blackpool have to beat Peterborough we also needed Crewe to beat Fleetwood – neither happened with Posh thrashing us five-one and the Cod Army winning two-nil.

When Jacob Blyth gave us a half time lead things looked promising but even if Pools had retained that lead it wouldn’t have mattered with another relegation happening due to the Fleetwood win.

Second half goals from Marcus Maddison, a 12-minutes hat-trick from Jon Taylor and another from Shaquile Coulthirst’s confirmed a third relegation in five seasons as our descent from the Premier League to League 2 was complete.

Will this be the final drop though….
