In the last few minutes, news has broken on the AFC Bournemouth official website that Blackpool have had a bid accepted for striker Brett Pitman.
Media reports over the past 24 hours had suggested that the Seasiders had made a bid of around £400,000 for the player in a deal that included clauses which, if triggered, could see the fee rise to £600,000.
However, it is unclear whether or not the above offer is the one that has been accepted or whether the Seasiders have made an improved offer for the in-form hitman.
Indeed, sources within AFC Bournemouth suggested to Vital earlier this summer that the Cherries would only sell Pitman for a fee of around £1 million.
The promising young striker has been a long term target of Ian Holloway’s, and it seems as if the ‘Pool manager has moved quickly to secure the player’s signature after 19 other teams watched him net a hat-trick against Peterborough at the weekend.
The Bournemouth site reports that Pitman is currently in Blackpool discussing personal terms.
