POOL HOLD ADAM NERVE AT THE DEATH

Charlie Adam will be staying at Blackpool until the summer after a hectic deadline day has seen three huge Premier League clubs rumoured to have bid for his services.

The Pool captain had Liverpool and Manchester United trailing him in the day and the Seasiders survived a late (very very late) bid from Tottenham Hotspur and have kept hold of their talisman.

A bid of £6.3m was not enough from Liverpool for Adam’s services at around nine o’clock tonight and that was thought to be the end of the transfer matter.

However, Spurs boss Harry Redknapp – who had been coy as ever all day – tabled a substantial bid with under half an hour to go until the deadline, which was knocked back by chairman Karl Oyston.

All this after Adam gave a thumbs up to journalists outside Bloomfield Road saying ‘I’m sorted’ shortly before the deadline, indicating he could be off to White Hart Lane.

It is never ever dull here on Dday, but Pool have kept their nerve brilliantly – also signing striker Kornilenko from Zenit St Petersburg.

Good on ya Blackpool good to see a smaller club standing up for what is right in football! Good luck for the rest of the season hopefully we might get the chance to play you lot in the top division as we always have a good bit of banter!
