Vital Blackpool can exclusively reveal that the Seasiders are hoping to complete the signing of Scottish left back Bob Harris before they fly out to their Portugal training camp on Friday.

23 year old Harris is a free agent after electing not to renew his contract at Scottish side Queen of the South, and has been in Blackpool today for talks, and even took part in training with the rest of ‘Pool’s first team squad.

Having been on the books of both Rangers and Clyde as a youngster, Harris signed professional terms with Clyde in 2004, before moving to Queen of the South three years later.

It is at Queen of the South that Harris’ reputation has grown, with him producing some very eye-catching displays at full back – he has been included in the Scottish First Division Team of the Year on more than one occasion and has won numerous ‘Goal of the Season’ awards.

That might seem a little bizarre for a full back, but Harris takes a mean freekick. Indeed, it would appear that he suits our style of play perfectly – he’s a full back who likes to bomb forward.

Harris has been linked with the Seasiders for over a year, and hopefully ‘Pool manager Ian Holloway will finally get his man in the coming days.
