Offer for Latvian midfielder…

The Latvian press are reporting that the Seasiders have made an offer for Latvian international Jevgenijs Kosmacovs.

The 21-year-old, who plays for FK Ventspils, has been on trial all week along with team mate Aleksandrs Solovjovs.

It’s thought that the club offered Kosmacovs a contract on Thursday.

After breaking into the Ventspils side in 2006, the midfielder has won the league three times and appeared in both European competitions.

His quick rise led him to being called up by the national side, who he’s played for three times – earning his last cap recently after a two year absence.

Manager Ian Holloway said that the club had two deals ‘pretty much done’ in his interview with the offical site following the 1-1 draw at Coventry.

Whether Kosmacovs is one of those remains to be seen, with Stephen Husbands from Hearts also a possible rumoured signing.
