The Mirror is this morning claiming that Blackpool have tabled an offer for Senegalese international El Hadji Diouf.

The 30 year old attacking midfielder is currently a free agent after being released by Blackburn earlier this summer, and has attracted interest from clubs in Qatar as well as West Ham and Leicester, but the national reports that the Seasiders are the first club to put a concrete offer infront of him and his advisors.

The paper also claims that ‘Pool’s offer to Diouf is worth around £14,000 a week.

In what may be an indication that the story does have an element of truth to it, the Blackpool Gazette are also carrying the story.

Diouf began his career in France before his performance in the 2002 World Cup saw him earn a big money move to Liverpool.

Since then he has played for Bolton, Sunderland, Blackburn and Rangers.

He has 69 caps and 21 goals for Senegal, and being an unattached free agent, the Seasiders would be able to sign him at any point despite the transfer window having closed.
