Blackpool’s players are set to return for pre-season training tomorrow, with large question marks still hanging over the futures of Matt Gilks, Stephen Crainey, Charlie Adam and DJ Campbell.

Gilks and Crainey are of course out of contract, whilst Adam and Campbell are both believed to be close to leaving the club.

So far, just one new signing will be joining up with the team as they prepare to begin life in the Championship once more – attacking midfielder Bojan Djordic. This is despite ‘Pool manager Ian Holloway’s desire to have most of his business done by now.

Indeed, it looks like Ollie may have to rely on youngsters Mark Halstead, Chris Kettings, Adam Dodd, Liam Tomsett, and Tom Barkhuizen early doors. All five have signed one year deals with the club this summer having come through the youth ranks.

Despite chairman Karl Oyston saying that he was ‘hopeful’ that the Seasiders would do some business this weekend, we are not expecting any arrivals at the club today.

It is also rumoured that Ollie’s plans to take the team away on a bonding trip have been shelved… let’s face it, it’d have been pointless anyway with only one new arrival!

Hopefully the Seasiders can do a lot of business in the coming hours and days, else the alarm bells will really start ringing… as David Vaughan once said though; ‘We all know what Blackpool are like’.
