Mamadou Bah has signed will be unveiled a Blackpool player tomorrow, Vital Blackpool understands.

The Strasbourg midfielder has been a target for Ian Holloway in the past few weeks and actually could’ve signed before now but for communication problems. Bah can’t speak English and has been granted a conditional short term work permit on the premise he learns parts of the language within six months.

A fee is believed to be in the region of £450,000, which is fairly heavy money for a player plying his trade in the lower divisions in France.

The deal had looked to have been dead, but Bah was spotted at Bloomfield Road during Saturday’s 2-2 with Fulham, which sparked rumours that the transfer was back on.

Last season Bah played over 25 league games for Strasbourg – who have fallen from grace dramatically in the past few seasons – from defensive midfield.

At 22, he represents yet another youngster signed by Ollie in the hope of building a competative tangerine squad for years to come.

Bah is a Guinea international and played in the 2008 African Cup of Nations for them, as well as their qualification campaign for South Africa 2010.
