Martin Devaney, the Barnsley winger who was the subject of a £150,000 Blackpool bid recently, is due to return to pre-season training this week.

According to Tykes Assistant Manager Ryan Kidd:

‘ He aggravated an old thigh injury in training but is now back running and should soon be fit to go back in with the squad.

‘ We have nothing really to rush him for and he will still have a good three weeks’ pre-season training ahead of him. ‘

With the signing of Adam Hammill who can operate on either flanks, and the proposed move for left winger David Vaughan has Devaney’s unfortunate injury led to Simon Grayson pursuing other interests? Or is Larry merely waiting for him to return to full fitness before following up his initial interest, given that at £150,000 he would still be an excellent addition to the Seasiders squad?
