The Seasiders are believed to have offered £500k for Dundee United defender Garry Kenneth.

The deal, if accepted, will see ‘Pool pay £200k up front and a further £300k in add ons.

Ian Holloway originally bid just £75k for the 22-year-old, and was promptly laughed at by the Scottish club.

But he hopes this new bid will encourage United to play ball.

The teams is thought to need a defender, striker and a midfielder in the transfer window, and Ollie is working on five deals.

He said: ‘We’ve got five deals on the go and am I anticipating getting all of them? I don’t know.

‘It is a big ask by Monday. If I get two I’ll be lucky. If I get three I’ll be delighted.

‘If I don’t get any there is always the loan market, which is open a week after the deadline and we are already looking at it.’
