No prizes for guessing it’s the increase in prices that seem to be the biggest contributory factor in our disappointing home attendances this season.
Out of our eight home games so far this season we have surpassed eight thousand four times – in the opening games of the season. But from our last four home matches our highest attendance was just short of 7,800 against Derby. In the games against Cardiff and Ipswich we failed to hit the 7,500 mark.
52% of you put this down to the prices. It’s also clear that the credit crunch hasn’t helped matters. So when you put these two together you’re bound to find smaller crowds being the result.
On a more positive note Sunday will see our first sell-out of the season when our friends up the M55 come to town. The question is how many more games will we sell-out this year?
The fans continue to make some great noise at Bloomfield Road. Think back to just before and after Steve Kabba’s goal against Barnsley,the Derby match and the second half against Palace. Yes, it was as quite as it has been all season last week against Ipswich, but at least all your voices should be ready to be used to full effect on Sunday!
The atmosphere for the Preston game should be excellent. Let’s hope we can cheer the boys onto another derby victory that could go a long way to putting a few more bums on seats through the rest of the season at Bloomfield Road.
