Danny Pugh has been confirmed as Blackpool’s sixth transfer of the summer.
The vastly experienced 33-year-old spent time training with Blackpool in Scotland last week with his signing on a one-year contract that also comes with the option of a further 12-months to follow.
Pugh, a former Manchester United trainee who has also been with clubs such as Stoke and Leeds, joins Blackpool on a free transfer following his release by Bury this summer.
He bring his experience of over 300-matches during his career so far with him making 48 first-team appearances for Bury last season with Pugh telling the Official Website following his arrival.
‘I’d spoken to the manager a couple of times on the phone and I was keen to meet up with the lads and get a couple of games and a couple of training sessions in. I’m delighted to finally sign. It’s quite a young team but there seems to be a good mix. I’ve got a little bit of experience, I’m maybe older than a few of the lads so hopefully I can bring something to the team. There’s a lot to achieve here, promotion being the main one.’
Gary Bowyer added he’s pleased to bring him in with his experience, and of course ability, making him a fine addition to his squad at Bloomfield Road.
‘Danny met up with the squad in Scotland and his impact was instant. He brings a wealth of experience to the team and will be a strong, vocal presence in the middle of the park.’
