The 2008 close season is quickly becoming the summer of discontent down at Bloomfield Road with the current inertia surrounding ground development being constantly added to by stories of the Seasiders star players being linked with various moves away from the club.

So today’s official announcement from Blackpool that they have accused QPR of making an illegal approach for Gorkss may be the club’s way of finally saying enough is enough.

However given the terseness of the statement as it appears on the official club site and the fact that the Football League deal with such matters and not the FA, is this really just a case of desperation tactics from the board?

Interestingly the manager of QPR, Iain Dowie, is himself no stranger to controversy, most notably his public fall-out with Simon Jordan when he left Crystal Palace for Charlton Athletic. So maybe there is a case for QPR to answer?

Either way hopefully this matter can be resolved promptly, unlike the infamous Wes Hoolahan Livingston affair which has still to be concluded after over a year!
