In the last few seconds, Sky Sports News have broken the news that Sunderland midfielder Andy Reid is currently undergoing a medical at Blackpool ahead of a permanent move to Bloomfield Road.

The 28 year old midfielder trained with the rest of the Blackpool squad this morning at Squires Gate and is now undergoing a medical after a fee believed to be in the region of £1 million was agreed between the two clubs.

The left winger has both Premier League and international experience and would no doubt be a welcome addition to the squad as ‘Pool manager Ian Holloway looks to strengthen his attacking options.

Reid is the second player to undergo a medical at BFC today, with Rangers striker James Beattie also undergoing one ahead of a proposed loan move from Rangers.

With just over eight hours of the transfer window remaining, will ‘Pool complete the Reid and Beattie deals in time, will the likes of Charlie Adam stay at the club, will there be any more arrivals that we’ve not heard of yet? So many questions, and always, Vital will have all the answers so stay tuned!
