There have been several media reports overnight that Blackpool’s Neal Eardley has not been included in the ‘Pool squad that is travelling to Hull for tonight’s season curtain raiser.

According to Seasiders manager Ian Holloway (who yesterday gave his first press conference since May 22nd), Eardley is not in the right frame of mind for the game due to off the field issues at the club.

Unless Ollie was spinning a massive porkie, players at the club are unhappy with the way that chairman Karl Oyston has dealt with the club’s relegation financially speaking, with players back on lower than average Championship salaries following their 50% wage cut after relegation from the Premier League.

Of course this could all just be a very clever (and ridiculous) mind game by Ollie, but if it isn’t, then the alarm bells have started ringing.

Two others who definitely won’t be travelling to Hull are Louis Almond who has joined Barrow on loan and first team coach Steve McPhee, who left the club yesterday.
